Power Laboratory
As mechanical systems and the operations of which are mostly dynamic and complex, advanced instrumentation and control techniques are required for precise data acquisition, diagnostics, simulation, design, failure analysis, and prediction. This laboratory also conducts testing and calibration of devices and materials for industrial purposes. As thermal science is one of the major fields of mechanical engineering, a power laboratory is a necessity to the department. It houses several apparatuses and systems involved in the generation, transmission, and utilization of heat and mechanical power for purposes of instruction, research, and services such as engine testing of automotive fuels and testing of pipes and fittings.
